I hate to be the one to tell you this, but you and Steve Jobs are wrong.

Java is just starting to reach critical mass in the desktop arena. This is mainly due to previous failures on Sun’s part.

C, C++ and .net are great, but honestly Java is really putting distance on its lead between itself and other platforms.

The iPhone is waaaaay overpriced and overhyped.

Java as a language has poor productivity tools to help the developer to be more efficient which is a big deal when it comes to desktop development. For example, the latest version of JavaFX lacks visual development tools for rapid application development. I could name several other features that are too difficult to use or features that are absent.
C,C++ has fantastic efficiency whereas, .net enables great productivity, but Java doesn’t really excel at either efficiency or productivity.
