I am a senior developer and as part of my day-to-day duties is to quickly review code of other developers on my team. I must say that it is quite pleasing when there is a SVN commit where the code is well formatted, properly JavaDoc&#039;d and easy to read.

In addition to your thoughts on documenting the code, if the code needs to be documented, it&#039;s probably better to extract it into a separate method and JavaDoc it that way.
